—PROCESS—

Though you may be interested in more than two roles, pick the two roles you want the most!
Please note you may also be considered for a role you did not audition for.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Anyone who would like to be cast in any role in either Twisted or Hero must complete both the vocals AND dance audition process in order to be considered for ANY ROLE at callbacks. Every cast member will sing AND dance at some point in the show.

CHARACTER:

  • Though we are NOT doing any acting sides (dialogue readings) during auditions, we look forward to seeing you express your acting abilities through the vocal and dance auditions.

  • Callbacks are specific to each show and will include sides/scenes, songs, and dances. (They are invite only and will be held the following week.) See CALLBACK info page

AUDITIONING FOR A SPECIFIC ROLE / F.A.Q.

Question: “I am interested in the Trainee Angel role, and at auditions, they won't be doing any of the Trainee Angel sides. How can I show up to auditions and still have the casting team see me in this role?”

  • Response:  Consider the given circumstances of that character, and portray that character through your audition, whether you chose one of the listed song selections or provide your own. Using a particular song selection can help bring a comedic factor. Also, using physical comedy in your performance can establish you as a contender for the Trainee Angel role.

  • Example: You could sing Holding Out for a Hero and put the Trainee Angel character into it to add some comedy. It’s all about how you approach the song and tell a story, so get creative and have fun!

Question: “What if I want to be a Twisted Angel and a Hero Demon?”

  • Response: Prepare two songs that contrast each other. “Love is a Battlefield” is a song that both Angels and Demons sing, so YOU can choose which side of the story you want to tell while singing it. It should be clear which character you are portraying.

  • Example: You could sing “Love is a Battlefield” as an Angel, and then sing Smells Like Teen Spirit as a Demon. Use movement to further define which character you are portraying.

—Preparation—

—VOCALS—

Vocal auditions are not just to hear you sing.
Come prepared to tell a story with the character you are auditioning for in mind!

  • ADULTS/TEENS: Prepare two (2) 60 second selections, either from the list below or a song of your choice that showcases your vocal abilities. 80’s or rock music pieces are preferred.

  • REQUIREMENTS FOR CHOOSING YOUR OWN SONGS:

    • Find a YouTube link that is karaoke or instrumental version only for that song

    • Submit the YouTube link and timestamp at check in on audition day

    • You are allowed 60 seconds of the song, so be sure to provide the timestamp that showcases you best

    • Please make sure the link you provide is accurate. If you fail to provide the correct link, you will be asked to sing a song (or songs) from the list below.
